Heute haben wir einmal ein Ikone des amerikanischen Automobilbaus. Der Ford Thunderbird der ersten Serie, gebaut von 1955 bis 1957. Ein Bild unseres www.o-y-a-pp.com Freundes Thomas R. Herzlichen Dank dafür! Der T-Bird war die Antwort auf die 1953 erschienene Chevrolet Corvette. Es sind die ersten beiden echten Sportwagen der USA, denn General Motors und Ford wollten diesen Markt nicht den Europäern überlassen, die mit englischen Roadstern und den ersten Porsche gute Geschäfte machten. Der T-Bird legte ab 1957 ständig an Gewicht zu. Das Nachfolgemodell als Viersitzer brachte bereits 500 kg mehr auf die Waage. So grazil und leicht wie der heute „Classic Bird“ Genannte sollte er nie wieder werden.

The T-Bird was the response to the Chevrolet Corvette, presented in 1953. These are the first two true sports cars of the USA, because General Motors and Ford not wanted this market left to the Europeans who did good business with English roadsters and the first Porsches. But the T-Bird since 1957 took off in constantly gaining weight. The successor model, a four-seater, already brought 500 kg more on the scales. So graceful and light as the today „Classic Bird“ called first model in the picture the T-Bird should never be again.
